Favorite images of the year: I haven’t done this sort of thing religiously, but I’ve posted something similar at least once before on this blog. What follows is a set of some of my favorite images made during 2021. Were they my best images of the year? Who knows. What does “best” even mean? But I digress…
In keeping with the casual spirit of the exercise, I didn’t spend a ton of time making the selections. I tried to reverse engineer the process; I tried to focus on what I felt were my most memorable moments and endeavored to find images that were evocative of those instances.
Great roundup of images — I’m sure there are plenty more that could have made the cut just as well! We also found that it is possible to travel safely, especially to remote destinations, as long as we take reasonable precautions. Here’s to more safe (and photographically satisfying) travel in 2022!
Yes, there were plenty of other photos that I could have selected. (In truth, this wasn’t a very a careful selection process. It was designed to be more representative than conclusive.)
Agreed, with a careful, considered, detail-oriented approach, it is possible to travel safely, at least some of the time to some places. One of the benefits of the kind of photography I like to engage in is that it’s not only possible, but likely, that there are few people around. It’s also, by definition, outdoors, and that’s a big part of why this activity remains viable–with precautions, as you noted.
Hands down favorite is Prairie Dogs… seems their numbers are declining.
Though there’s what I consider to be best shot ever of the Aurora Borealis!
Happy Holidays, Kerry!
Kerry, what a joy to see such a spectacular group of photos – it is truly a feast for the eyes. I’ve been planning to explore your posts for the year, this is a great teaser. Have a wonderful new year!
